First is to right click properties of CSS and go to launch properties..
Type "-dxlevel 80" without the quotes..You may try a level lower than that but most Servers require a minimum of direct x level 8
Note : -dxlevel 80 means directx level 8
-dxlevel 8 means directx level 0.8
-dxlevel 100 means directx level 10
After launching the game...Go to options ...than to video than click advanced...and put every thing u see there to a lower setting..Please do no change these settings while playing...Your system will crash...
And OH yes..Remember to switch off any Compiz fusion u have..Please switch off any desktop effects....It will cause the X11 to crash when playing any games tat require opengl or directx on linux. ALso disable XGL or else 3d rendering will not be enabled.
Further more if you are using PulseAudio for sound , the games will not run.
Disable Pulse and use ALSA or OSS
